Make the destination ready first
Before leaving, locate your own plot and an available nest. Practice the final approach from the direction you intend to hunt. This preparation matters most when a cave exit or ledge forces you to approach home from an unfamiliar angle. Read the interaction prompt on your device instead of assuming a keyboard shortcut applies to mobile or console.
Choose an egg you can identify and a route you have already completed. Do not use its artwork to predict the hatch. The community Eggs snapshot records rarity and Luck, but supplies no complete egg-to-pet pool. A confirmed name lets you compare future attempts without pretending you know the result in advance.
Finish the carry before another search
Once you collect the egg, check the carry warning and head home. The player walkthrough distinguishes finding an egg from successfully delivering it, and describes an Egg Will Break countdown. Use your actual on-screen countdown; do not borrow one egg’s timer as a promise for every rarity.
At the plot, place the egg in an empty nest and follow the hatch flow. Wait for the pet result before beginning another run. If placement fails, inspect whether you reached your own plot, whether the nest is available and whether you still hold the egg. Those checks diagnose the failed stage without spending on another radar immediately.

Judge the pet, then choose the next attempt
Write down the egg name and the pet you received. Compare the new pet’s current speed and jump with your mount, then test it on the same short route. Base directory values are useful for context, but an aged or mutated pet can differ from its unmodified community record.
Keep an existing useful mount while trying the replacement. If the return was comfortable but the hatch did not help, your next question is target selection. If the return failed, improve that route first. More attempts are not useful when each repeats the same delivery problem; finish one dependable loop before hunting farther from the ranch.
